Ghost Pepper Cocktail Recipe

ghost-pepper-spicy-cocktail-recipeI got this idea from a loyal blog reader a few years back. It’s a simple chile pepper cocktail recipe that uses the heat and flavor of a dried bhut jolokia, AKA the ghost pepper.  While I usually prefer the fruity flavor of a fresh bhut jolokia, this recipe tastes fantastic with a bit of the earthiness and smokiness of a smoked jolokia.

Ingredients:
2 oz. of honey whiskey (Evan Williams and Seagrams work great)
1.5 ounces of simple syrup
.5 ounces of lemon juice
1 dried (and smoked) whole Bhut Jolokia, split down the middle

Directions:
1. Put the…

Impossibly Easy Spicy Barbecue Beef Pie Recipe

impossibly-easy-spicy-barbecue-beef-pieWhile it’s not “real” low n’ slow smoked BBQ, this delish Impossibly Easy Spicy Barbecue Beef Pie is a ridiculously simple kitchen-made dish that will please your family. And if this recipe proves to be a bit too spicy because of its inclusion of medium-heat serrano chiles, you can substitute the milder jalapeno pepper if you’d like. Whatever your or your family’s heat tolerance is, it’s a good bet that there will be little to no leftovers after whipping some of this up for dinner!

Recipe – White Chocolate Chip Habanero Cookies

Habanero White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Habaneros lend themselves beautifully to a vast assortment of things sweet, and they’re fantastic in these white chocolate chip cookies. I suppose you can make these with regular milk chocolate, semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips, but I opted for the smoother, more mild taste of white chocolate. With these chips, you get the full range of flavors without having anything be overpoweringly sweet.

Made the right way, these cookies work perfectly if you’re hankerin’ a sweet and spicy treat. Take one bite and you’ll get the delicious taste of the dough and the white chocolate just melting in your mouth. The fruity flavor of the habanero peppers kick in at ten seconds in, and isn’t until 15 to 20 seconds after first taking a bite does the heat fully develop. It’s a cool “two stage” snack that goes great with a glass of milk or eggnog…

Recipe: Ott’s Buffalo Bean Soup

Recipe: Ott's Buffalo Bean Soup If you know me well then you know I ain’t a soup fan. While I like chunky chilis, stews, and ham and beans, I believe typical, thin, brothy soups lack the adequate substance to be any part of a meal. Well, here’s a recipe for a buffalo bean soup that’s anything but run-of-the-mill and watery. Using Ott’s Wing Sauce, this is a thick, hearty delight that would please the palette of both chileheads and soup lovers…

The Bacon Explosion Recipe

bacon-explosion-preperation-step-4A Bacon Explosion is a carnivore’s dream, and definitely something that all foodie thrill seekers and grilling enthusiasts must try at least once in their lives. Full credit for this juicy monster of meaty love has to be given to Jason Day and Aaron Chronister of BBQ Addicts, who first posted the dish on their blog a few months ago.

The Bacon Explosion consists of bacon, sausage, barbeque sauce and barbeque seasoning or rub. The bacon is first assembled in a weave to hold the layers of pork sausage, BBQ sauce and crumbled bacon. Once rolled up, the Bacon Explosion is cooked, basted, cut and served.

Recipe: Boneless Buffalo Wings

When I wrote the Love Hot Wings and Buffalo Wings? Here Are 15 Different Recipes You’ve Gotta Try article a few months back, I didn’t even realize at the time that I had left out a mention of boneless buffalo wings. Yikes! Since I’m a diehard devotee of Buffalo Wild Wings and the awesome boneless wings they serve, a recipe on how to make these tasty little guys is long overdue.

Why boneless? Everyone knows there’s nothing like sucking the meat off a succulent, perfectly-cooked, bone-in chicken wing. Going boneless, though, has it’s advantages. For one, you get considerably more meat per bite. Second, although they are smothered in sauce, there’s no mess on your fingers as you eat these babies with a fork.
