Updated Chilehead Festival Events Calendar for 2016

It’s that time of year again!

What I’m actually talking about is the end of the fiery foods festival season. Around mid-to-late-October all chile pepper events and hot sauce shows have all but pretty much ended through the remainder of the year, only to start back up a few weeks after the New Year.

So it being this time, it’s also the time in which I will update my Hot Sauce/Chilehead Events and Festivals Calendar page of hot sauce shows, spicy food festivals, and other chile pepper-related events occurring around the United States for the coming year…

Sour Cream Taco Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (you can either use a store-bought packet, or this great recipe from our friends over at HotSauceDaily.com for homemade taco seasoning)
  • Juice of 1 lime

Directions:
In a small bowl, whisk all ingredients together until smooth. Drizzle over tacos as desired…

Pizza Fries Recipe

pizza-fries-recipeHere’s a ridiculously simple recipe for family night that is sure to please everyone – pizza fries!

Pizza Fries Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 (2 lb) bag frozen french fries
  • 1 cup pasta sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced pepperoni
  • Dried Oregano for Seasoning
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes for Seasoning (optional)
  • Hot Sauce (Optional)
  • Marinara Sauce for Dipping (Optional)

DIRECTIONS:

1.Prepare the fries according to the package directions. Remove them from the oven. Pour the pasta sauce over the fries.

2.Top with the cheese, pepperoni, and a few dashes of oregano.

3.Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.

4. Top with several shakes of red pepper flakes or hot sauce, if desired, or fork and dip pizza fries into marinara sauce.
