Here's a clever little Toluca Gourmet TV commercial that ran several months ago. It features their Jalapeno and Habanero hot sauces at the end.

Hot Sauce Bet on Ghost Hunters
I never watch SyFy's Ghost Hunters, but here's a short little aside after the hosts stumple upon some Dave's Temporary Insanity Sauce (a sauce that has only about 1/4 the heat of the classic Dave's Insanity Sauce):
Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show 2009 Video
As the ball begins to be put into motion for the forthcoming Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show in March of next year (I just bought plane tickets a few days ago), my thoughts start to wander and meander to images of vendor booths, seemingly unlimited bottles of hot stuff and the Sandia Mountains bordering the outskirts of host town Albuquerque, New Mexico. What better way to satiate my thirst for the biggest hot sauce show of the year than to view this nice little recap created by former TV news anchor/reporter Rosa Linda Román for the New Mexicast. It features the goings-on at the 2009 FFS, and many friendly faces that are familiar to chileheads appear in the video:
DEFCON Interview on Cablevision
Here is DEFCON Creator John Dilley giving a lengthy interview. Good stuff!
How to Eat a Chicken Wing
Chef John of the Food Wishes Blog has put together a video on his technique for consuming flat chicken wing parts. Pretty nifty. I have my own style: the push your fingers from the other side through the two bones and suck the meat out method. But I'll have to give Chef John's a shot next time I have a plate full of buffalo wings in front of me and sees if it improves wing eating.
Tabasco Singing Pepperoni Pizza Commercial
Do you like hot sauce on your pizza? I certainly do, even if Tabasco Brand Pepper Sauce is one of my least favorite choices. Despite that fact, I found this oddball Tabasco commercial featuring creepy, singing pepperonis kind of interesting:
Joe Perry on His Boneyard Hot Sauces
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was recently interviewed, and he talked about the future of his Boneyard Hot Sauce line:
Ol' Man Stillmanz Fiery Wing Challenge 2009, Round 2
Here is more great footage for the Ol' Man Stillmanz Fiery Wing Challenge held this past August at the Seaview in Brisbane, Australia. After the last video I posted on the competition, here is round two, and there's never a dull moment!
Video of Woman Rubbing Bhut Jolokia Peppers in Her Eyes
Okay, so this is not really "new" news; in fact, I've posted about this before. Back in April of this year, an Indian woman ate a Guinness World Record for eating the most bhut jolokia chile peppers in two minutes - a total of 51. The woman, Anandita Dutta Tamuly, also set a world record that day for rubbing 24 bhut jolokia (or "ghost chiles") peppers in her eyes in one minute. Totally insane, and now here's video of her performing that later feat. I guess a few people in the human race are born immune to this kind of punishment:
The Making of Tom's Hot Sauce Video
I've recently reviewed a pair of Tom's Hot Sauces, both of the carrot-and-habanero variety, and was impressed with what I had tasted. And now, here is a short video featuring the making of these fine sauces:
Morning Show Does Munchies 420 Cafe Fire in the Hole Wing Challenge; Scott Finds a Boo-Boo
Here's one I heard about this morning from my wife. She was listening to a St. Louis crap morning radio show. It's the dreadful MJ Morning Show, which is technically based out of Tampa and is syndicated in other Florida towns, in addition to the St. Louis metro area. Anyway, she text messaged me that on this morning's show they were partaking in the "Fire in Your Hole" wing challenge which Adam Richman of Man v. Food had recently taken on (and will be aired on the Travel Channel later in September). She also mentioned that the challenge is using a sauce based on the ghost chile pepper, which chileheads know better as the naga/bhut jolokia pepper. Sounded interesting, but I was unable to listen to the radio segment on my iPhone in time.
One item that was of particular interest to both my wife and me was that while listening, she heard the owner of the eating establishment hosting the wing-eating challenge, Munchies 420 Cafe in Sarasota, FL, claim that the sauce was hotter than 20 million Scoville Heat Units. Now she is not into hot peppers and spicy foods at all, but after listening to me talk about the heat in sauces and chiles over the years, even she knew the extreme heat claim sounded a little fishy. Of course, everyone with even the smallest knowledge of capsaicin knows that the top limit of the Scoville Scale is 16 million, and it's near impossible to create a pure extract that high, let alone 20 million...
Adam Richman of Man Vs. Food Takes on a Four Chile Burger
On the second season premiere of Man v. Food, host and uper-eater Adam Richman took on the "Four Horseman" Burger at San Antonio's Chunky's Burgers. The beastly sandwich is topped with jalapeno, serrano, habanero and naga bhut jolokia chile peppers. Adam had 25 minutes to down the burger and then had to wait no less than 5 minutes without consuming any milk or ice cream in order to become one of only four people ever to have conquered the Four Horseman. Here's a trailer (the full version is unfortunately not online):
CaJohns at Jungle Jim's Weekend of Fire
Here's video featuring CaJohns hot sauce given to attendees at a previous Jungle Jim's Weekend of Fire show.
There's no telling what else CaJohns and the other hot sauce vendors will have in store for this year's Weekend of Fire on August 1 and 2, so come see for yourself!

Classic Mac 'n Cheese Recipe by the BBQ Pit Boys
Here's a great grilled mac 'n cheese recipe video done by the BBQ Pit Boys. It runs a bit long for a recipe video (over 13 minutes), but you gotta love the low-pitched, gravelly voice-over AND the fact that he uses a machete for a cooking utensil:

Is America Going to Have a Lost Decade like Japan Did in the 1990s?
Reason.tv has put together a short video explaining how Japan went through an economic slump in the 1990s - the "lost decade" - and how America might parallel it by going through with the current stimulus package, which includes massive bailouts of large businesses (something Japan also did in an attempt to jumpstart their economy).
