Mega-barbecue - and using smartphone appsThe Best BBQ Apps for Smartphones

There’s nothing quite like sitting the delicious, smoky, juicy flavor of a perfect barbecue, and we all know that the hours spent slaving away to get the taste of the sauce just right is all part of the process. The effort just makes the barbecue that much more delicious. But we can’t deny that, sometimes, we just want a good barbecue without as much effort, and constantly keeping track of temperatures can be quite the hassle.

Luckily for us, the smartphone revolution has paved the way for us to be able to experience hassle-free barbecuing. For years now, the idea of “the smart kitchen” has been circulating, but it wasn’t until recently that the technology really took off. According to the company that relaunched Free Bingo Hunter late last year, growth in mobile internet is among the fastest growing trends on the internet landscape to date, and this has resulted in nearly 2 billion people who use their smartphones for a variety of functions, including cooking and grilling.

You may have been limited to using your smartphones to access recipes and grilling tips in the past, but nowadays, you can use it to actually get grilling. There are now devices that can be controlled with your smartphone, or work directly with it at the very least, which can help make grilling easier. Here are three of the best:

1. ActiveGrill
I have to admit that the ActiveGrill system looks a lot like an industrial machine, but this powerhouse packs amazing technology. It uses heat flaps and fully automated electronic control to ensure precise temperatures are reached. The system can, of course, be controlled using your smartphone, which displays all the necessary information such as temperature and timer controls.

2. BBQ Guru
BBQ Guru has created a system that allows full remote control of their grills. The CyberQ WiFi system, which have versions for each of their grills, goes beyond temperature control, however. It can even serve as a sort of sous chef for you, automatically adjusting temperatures and cooling down depending on the settings you plug into its mobile console. The console can be accessed via their mobile device, or their smartphone via an internet browser.

3. iGrill Thermometers
Among the first of the mobile devices developed for the grill, iGrill Thermometers make maintaining temperatures easy by displaying them on your phone. They easily allow you to track the temperature of the meat you’re grilling so you know just when it’s time to take them off the heat!
