Review - Jakk Hammer Hot Sauces
Attempting to lay rest to the notion that anything hot and spicy has to originate from the South, the Jakk Hammer Hot Sauce Company hails from Ontario, Canada and proudly produce two sauces - the original Jakk Hammer Spicy Cayenne Sauce (a Louisiana-style condiment) and the Jakk Hammer XXX Habanero Sauce. I wanted to find out if these can both melt igloos from the Great White North AND taste great on a variety of dishes, so I doubled up this time for another dual review.
St. Louis Restaurant Coupons
If you live anywhere around the St. Louis metro area and eat out at restaurants with any high degree of frequently, I'm sure you know about stltoday.com's offering of food-related coupons, correct? Well, if you don't, then their online Food and Dining Coupons section is worth a look. They'll usually have around four pages of 10 printable coupons on each page for local St. Louis area restaurants and other businesses that sell food, such as markets, coffee houses, and frozen custard stands. You may not always find a restaurant coupon for your particular favorite eatery, but occasionally you can discover a good deal that will save you a couple of bucks.
Review - Ole Ray's Apple/Cinnamon and Peach-A-Licious Barbeque Sauces
Here are a couple of items obtained from my recent excursion to the Weekend of Fire - Ole Ray's Apple/Cinnamon and Peach-A-Licious Barbeque Sauces. Both have been heavily-infused with fruit jelly and promise something different from commonplace BBQ sauces.

Weekend of Fire Day Three - CaJohn's Open House
The third day of my fiery adventure had arrived. Since I was staying in Columbus, I had to commute back and forth to the Cincinnati area (a 100-mile drive) for the two days to attend the Jungle Jim's Weekend of Fire show. Not today. I was to visit CaJohn's Fiery Foods based right there in Ohio's capital city, so there was no long drive! Better yet, I was told to show up at the location between 10 and 11:00 am, so I was able to sleep in for the first time during my trip (no 6:00 am wake-up times). So I chilled around my in-laws' house for a while and then plotted my course to the CaJohn building using Google Maps on my iPhone...
Review - CaJohn's Jolokia Wing Sauce 10
After eyeing a bottle of Jolokia Wing Sauce 10 during my recent trip to CaJohn's Fiery Foods in Columbus, Ohio, I knew I had to give it a thorough taste test (in order words, devour large quantities) some since I'm a diehard buffalo/hot wing fanatic. Read on to see if I fell in love with the flavor or if I was left disappointed...

Adam Richman of Man Vs. Food Takes on a Four Chile Burger
On the second season premiere of Man v. Food, host and uper-eater Adam Richman took on the "Four Horseman" Burger at San Antonio's Chunky's Burgers. The beastly sandwich is topped with jalapeno, serrano, habanero and naga bhut jolokia chile peppers. Adam had 25 minutes to down the burger and then had to wait no less than 5 minutes without consuming any milk or ice cream in order to become one of only four people ever to have conquered the Four Horseman. Here's a trailer (the full version is unfortunately not online):
Review - Mad Anthony's XXXTRA HOT Private Reserve Hot Sauce
When I first tasted Mad Anthony's Hot Sauce however many years ago, I was incredibly relieved. For one, if it was a sub-par sauce, there have might have been people who accused me of using it and liking it just because Michael Anthony was the bassist for Van Halen, my favorite band of all-time (he was since let go from the group and is now rockin' it up with Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, and Chad Smith in Chickenfoot, but I digress). Two, celebrities and their ilk are quite adapt at releasing and promoting crappy products with their name on it, whether it be food, cologne, shoes, or trash bags (okay, maybe not trash bags). Anthony had actually come up with a quality condiment with the help of Mike and Diane's Gourmet Kitchen, makers of Ring of Fire hot sauces, and it was something worth shouting about. Anthony has subsequently released a milder version of his hot sauce, a pair of BBQ sauces, and a spicy mustard, all of which are above average. Does his latest creation, the Mad Anthony's XXXTra Hot Private Reserve, live up to the same high standards as the others?

Review - Blair's Original Death and Jalapeno Death Sauces
Because there's only so much time in the day, it's impossible for me to write about every sauce I've encountered, both new and old. In an effort to keep things balanced, I'll do a double review today, where one will be a classic, Blair's Original Death Sauce, plus a relatively new sauce in the Death line that I've never tasted before this review, Blair's Jalapeno Death Sauce with Tequila...
Weekend of Fire - Last Call and Event Review
Not sure about attending the Weekend of Fire in the Cincinnati suburb of Fairfield, Ohio? Well, I urge you to come if you can! If you can't, I'll be covering the Weekend of Fire hot sauce show all this weekend long here on ScottRobertsWeb.com and on my Scott Roberts Twitter page with photos, news, and contest results.
What exactly is going down at the WOF? Well, here are the eloquent words of chilehead Buddah:
"For those that haven't kept up with the show. The list of things that are happening read as such:
Friday 5pm - Open Bar & Food (not sure the spread yet) for Vendors and Blogger Booth helpers.
Saturday throughout the show - at Blogger's Booth, salsa challenge finalists. Decide who the winner is by sampling each one and casting your ballot. If you mention that you saw this on THIS SITE, you will get a FREE jar of SALSA of the one you choose!!!
Saturday Evening - Once the 1st day is over, it's the Championship Defcon Deathmatch, a wing contest for the brave of heart and the less of brains. The trophy stands at a whopping 5 ft tall. There will be prizes for the runners up of course. At least there was last year. :D
Sunday 2:00 pm - Intensity Academy's Lick-a-Thon, a 1.5 Million Scoville lollipop licking challenge. Prizes as well!!!
Saturday & Sunday Morning- Before the show kicks off there will be a breakfast served to all vendors and bloggers.

COME ONE COME ALL!!! I hope to see you there."
Vitamin C Super Pepper Developed
From the Telegraph UK:
A pepper capable of providing a person's daily recommended amount of vitamin C has been developed by scientists for Marks & Spencer.
For those who struggle to eat their five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, the pepper could provide relief.
Called the ACE pepper, just one of the sweet tasting vegetables contains all the vitamin C needed for a day and half the recommended amount of vitamins A and E...
Review - Archer Farms Hot & Spicy Potato Chips
Here's yet another fiery potato chip entry, this time from Archer Farms. If you had not known, Archer Farms is Target department stores' "premium" food brand sold in many of their locations across the U.S.. I'm reviewing the Hot & Spicy Potato Chips, and surprising to me, these are an above-average snack a lot of spicy food fans would deem munch-worthy.
Spicy Lollipop Lick-a-Thon at This Year's Weekend of Fire
Intensity Academy will be holding a Lollipop Lick-a-Thon of Heat at the Bloggers Booth at the Weekend of Fire this weekend in Fairfield, Ohio! If you're brave enough, you can sign up to see how long you can hold a scorching 1.5 million Scoville Heat Unit Chai Thai sucker on your tongue:
Review - Wendy's Sweet & Spicy Asian Boneless Wings
Being a big fanatic of boneless chicken wings (and breast meat nuggets, tenders, and chicken strips), giving Wendy's Sweet & Spicy Asian Boneless Wings a try was a must. I'll spare you the story of the drive-thru employees' headslappingly annoying incompetence, and get right to the meat (pun intended) of the review...
