Weekly Firecast Episode 5 - CaJohns Oaxacan Hot Sauce and Scott's Favorite Seasoning and Spice Combinations

Subscribe to the Weekly Firecast RSS Feed to see new episodes as they're posted!

In the first segment, my friend John Nemec and I visit a local Chipotle restaurant to tackle CaJohns Oaxacan Hot Sauce on some soft tacos and a burrito. I've eaten the taco-style sauce numerous times in the past but this was John's first encounter with it.

Later in the episode, I offer up of my favorite seasoning and spice combinations. The story behind this was, after hearing me mention that I liked to combine seasoning blends on the Bloggers Roundtable episode of the Hot Sauce Weekly podcast, Johnny McLaughlin of Heartbreaking Dawns had asked what specifically I like to mix together. The answer is a nine-minute piece here in this video where I try to address that.

That was quite a commitment for your buddy to apply a new sauce to his burrito that way.....good thing he liked it.

I think it's a good overall taco sauce. I still have a bottle of John's extra hot Oaxacan.

I really enjoy carne asada taco's but for those I just need something hotter.

Another great episode Scott. I can't wait until you try the seasonings I am working on, about 3 more weeks and we can get them out to you to try,.

Sounds like they might be right up your alley!

Very nicely done. I must admit that it stretched the bounds of my attention span. Any longer for an online video would be too much IMO.

Like it Scott. Very interesting approach to the flavor profiling and collaboration.
