'The Science of Hot Sauce' Presentation at SLA 2010 Conference

The Special Library Association Annual Conference & Info-Expo, also known as SLA 2010, will be held on June 13-16, Marriott Courtyard-Convention Center, New Orleans, LA. The multi-day event boasts dozens of speakers giving presentations on just as many topics of interest, and exhibitors from top service and product providers. One seminar that would be of interest to chileheads is "The Science of Hot Sauce".

This presentation will begin at Tuesday June 15th, 2:00 P.M. in the La Louisiane Ballroom. Dr. Ben Villalón aka "Dr. Pepper," a retired Texas Extension Specialist, will lead the speakers and will discuss the scientific properties of hot sauces and more spicy information.

Also talking during the seminar will be local pepper relish company owners Cindy and Eddie Darce, and will discuss their business, do a food demonstration, and have hot pepper relish available for purchase. This spicy session is co‐sponsored with three other science divisions.
