Recipe - Scott's Cream Cheese Marshmallow Fruit Dip
Let's take a short break from the screamin' capsaicin-induced pain and the bold flavors of spice and BBQ, and instead rest on the tasty, soothing side of the tracks. Here is one of the simplest things you can whip up on the kitchen when you're hankerin' for an addictive, sweet snack or appetizer: my marshmallow cream cheese dip.
There's really not much to it. All you'll need are:
1 8 oz. package/container of cream cheese
1 7 or 8 oz. jar of marshmallow creme
Various spices (optional)
Fruit for dipping
Simply take a large mixing bowl and soften up the cream cheese. Then add the marshmallow creme and mix together with a large spoon until all the pieces of cream cheese are well-blended in the mixture. That's it!
If you're adventurous, you can optionally add 1/8 or 1/4 teaspoon each of your favorite ground spice that would go well with something that is sweet: cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, or even chile powder. You could even try lemon or orange zest for a citrus flavor burst.
Serve with plenty of fresh fruit. Sliced apples, strawberries, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes and peaches all work well. Dig in!
