Nanami Togarashi - New Spice Starting to Gain Headway in New Zealand
There's a new spice gaining popularity in New Zealand supermarkets called Nanami Togarashi. As you can probably guess from the name, it is Japanese in origin has been in use on that island for hundreds of years. Containing seven unique ingredients (red chili peppers, roasted orange peel, Japanese pepper, white and black sesame seeds, nori [seaweed] and ginger), Nanami Togarashi adds a kick to soups, sweets, dips, and rice crackers.
