Make Your Life Easier Today!
Unless you've been living in an underground nuclear bunker for the past five years, I'm sure you know all about the glory and usefulness of "web 2.0" services tools such as social networking and RSS feeds. No longer do you have manually visit each and every website that interests you to see if there's anything new on them.
Now the websites will "come to you" instead. This can be accomplished through a subscribable feed listing of the latest posts that you can view on any RSS feed reader ranging from aggregator sites like My Yahoo!, iGoogle and NetVibes to stand-alone reader programs for your computer or smart phones. Yeah, to some that may sound like a load of techno-babble, but you basically take the feed link, plug it in and you'll see a list of my latest posts. It's actually pretty simple.
You can also follow and track the website authors themselves on Twitter and Facebook, and not only discover when new material is pushed up to their blogs, but get little tidbits of information and insight they might not necessarily posted on their websites.
It's no different with me. You can copy my website feed link of http://feeds.feedburner.com/ScottRoberts and paste it into any of the sites or type of apps listed above in the second paragraph. After doing so, if you see headline or review that sounds interesting, you can click on it and be taken directly to the post itself. Anything doesn't pique your interest? You can feel free to skip over it.
I post updates to my website along with all kinds of stuff (both the trivial and the useful) to my Twitter page. I sometimes retweet interesting tweets, links, pics and articles, especially of it's hot sauce, chile pepper, grilling or barbecue-related, and doubly especially if there's not enough time or space to post it here on this blog. If you're on Twitter I'd love for you to follow me and can I follow you in return.
Many more of you are on Facebook. You can befriend me on my Facebook profile. All I ask is if we don't have any mutual friends is that you send a message telling me how you came across me. Thanks!

Seriously, with Twitter or any other social networking site, you only have to follow or befriend those who you want to follow. I'd say if you can out up with 1200+ friends on Facebook, you should have no problems following 10 people on Twitter.
