Heartbreaking Dawns 1841 Ghost Pepper Sauce

Today I am reviewing Heartbreaking Dawns 1841 Hot Sauce. Last October I attended the Weekend of Fire in Ohio and tried out some hot sauces including this one. So I asked Johnny McLaughlin of Heartbreaking Dawns if I could take some home to try it out and review. And so I did.

Ingredients:
Pears, Applesauce, Cider Vinegar, Ghost Peppers (Bhut Jolokia), Water, Onion, Carrot, Lime Juice, Sugar, Sea Salt, Garlic, White Pepper

The sauce is orange, and it has a medium consistency.

1841 smells fruity and really spicy. In my opinion, I think this sauce is good for meats, like chicken or hamburgers. I also think its good, but also hot, on Mexican foods like tacos or burritos. The heat level is 7 out of 10 and is hot!

My overall rating is 4.5 out of 5 because its really hot but, it's still delicious! 4.5 stars

Great review! Finally got around to using mine from the 2011 Weekend of Fire (purchased waaay too many sauces that year). I finished the bottle in less than a week. One of my top 5 sauces!

Great review!!!!! Interestingly, the illustrious Cook's Illustrated rated this as their favorite "hottest hot sauces," noting: "One of the first commercially available sauces made with Trinidad Scorpion Butch T peppers, this sauce packs a punch without neglecting flavor. It contains apricots, blueberries, carrots, and honey, which give it a “smoky,” “sweet,” “fruity” flavor that balances its “harsh,” “biting” heat. Tasters liked it for use on “all things meat” and warned that it’s “not deadly but not something to take lightly either.”"
