The 12th annual Houston Hot Sauce Festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 15, and Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Stafford Centre in Stafford, Texas.
The Houston Hot Sauce Festival excites the senses with hundreds of award winning products, from hot sauces, salsas, jams, jellies, rubs, marinades, wing sauces, pickled products, to soup mixes, and more.
Every year the kind-hearted vendors amp up the heat on some of their products for the most coveted award of the Festival, People's Choice, "The Hottest Hot Sauce at the Festival."
Beware... our culinary experts take this competition seriously. They are not afraid to take this trophy… and take you down with it! Please be sure to read the warning labels... and eat at your own risk.
EMTs will be on location to assist hot sauce victims.
CaJohn's from Columbus, Ohio, the most awarded company in the United States, will be taking part in the festival's competition, going for their first 1st Place win in Houston.
The Hot Sauce Festival takes pride in showcasing products from mild to wild. Aside from hot sauce, vendors will be sampling delicious, full-flavored products that range from Chai-Thai Teryaki Marinade to Mango Salsa.
There will be pepper clothes, jewelry, vendor stalls with arts and crafts, ongoing live entertainment – including the festival "House Band," the Zydeco Dots; plenty of food, ice cold drinks and a "Chile-dren's" (get it?) area – and includes free face painting for the kids!
Proceeds will benefit Snowdrop Foundation Cancer Research, which assist patients and families at Texas Children's Cancer Center through funding for continued research to eliminate childhood cancer and scholarships for college bound pediatric cancer patients and survivors.
Festival hours are from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 15, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 16. Admission is TBD and parking is free. "Chile-dren" under 12 will receive free admission.
