Review - Burger King Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger

Burger King Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger

It's getting danged near impossible in this day and age to sample every single fast food offering that contains or is branded with some type of spicy components. Fiery foods (at least on a mildly-burning level) are beginning to saturate the general snack and QSR industries at a dizzying speed.

There's a new sandwich from Burger King in the Stuffed Steakhouse Burger. This one is billed with having "Jalapeno and Cheddar" cooked right in the patty. I was mildly disappointed with their spicy burger from two years ago in the Angry Whopper - the taste was alright but the supposed "heat" or "angriness" was laughable. With the I wanted to give BK another shot at fiery foods redemption with this Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger.

I ordered up one of these grease bombs at a BK drive-thru close to my work. Upon receiving the burger and taking an inspection of it, the Burger King Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger appeared to have lettuce, tomato, a poblano-flavored sauce (mayo-based?), and of course, the round, flame-broiled beef slab that contains jalapeno pieces and mini cheddar chunks.

I was surprised by how many peppers and cheese pieces were in my burger. It's been griped about by many others online, but I personally had no complaints when it came to how much this bad boy was "stuffed" with. As you can see in the photos below, there's enough melty components and chile dicings to make almost every bite have a jalapeno or cheddar taste present.

The overall taste of the patty wasn't too bad. If you have already enjoyed the flame-broiled flavor of Burger King's grilled meat discs, then there's a good chance you would favor the Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger. The added presence of jalapeno bits and cheddar was decent, too. I actually tasted the chile peppers as I plowed through chomp after chomp of this. There was extremely little heat to speak of anywhere in this sandwich; hardcore chileheads shouldn't be too surprised at this fact.

Unfortunately, what kills the Jalapeno and Cheddar BK Stuffed Steakhouse Burger is the poblano sauce. I don't know what this goo is comprised of, but one possibility is that it's mayonnaise-based with a dash of pepper powder or flakes. Whatever it is, it's pretty rank and only detracts from what positives were already in the burger. My advice with be to order this thing without sauce.

Overall Rating: 2.5 stars

pretty much what I thought about it. It was an okay burger. Maybe I'll try one without the poblano sauce and add some Hudd's Fury.

How come your burger doesn't look like the advertised burger?! HA! They never do, do they!

If you were disappointed with the BK burger, don't even try the McD Chipolte burger, very disappointing, no heat, no chipolte flavor. It seems they are trying to target people who "think" they like the heat, rather than the ones who actually do! (HEY! Big Burger Joints, I'm available for consultation! For a nominal fee of course!)
