A Message From Defcon Sauces.....

Greetings fellow wing aficionados and culinary perfectionists,
As we begin preparation for our next event on the Defcon Sauces calendar, the wonderful Zest Fest show in Dallas, Texas next week (9/11-9/13), I thought I’d take a few minutes to get everyone up to speed as to what’s been going on within the twisted world of Defcon Sauces.
First off, if you haven’t seen the 2009 Defcon National Championship Wing-Eating Deathmatch video, which took place at Jungle Jim’s Weekend of Fire in August, check it out on our website, it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss. Certain parts are not for the squeamish, which is just the way I like it.
Our exhaustive global domination efforts have brought new markets into the fold, and we have crossed into new continents, exponentially expanding the perimeter of our sphere of influence. It seems Defcon Sauces is now residing on many tables in various countries throughout Europe. It’s nice to see a global audience that has awesome culinary taste, it truly makes us happy. Soon, very soon, the Emerald Isle will be offering up our masterpieces to the public on a grand scale, so if you’re in or around Dublin, prepare yourself for the gastronomically-based invasion. We are also still being sold at all Madison Square Garden events, which has been a fantastic success for both us and MSG. With the amount of product they go through, it seems tens of thousands of individuals have found their Wing Nirvana.
Besides Zest Fest, we are gearing up for yet another of Defcon Sauces prime time seasons, the football season. We are about to open the gates and begin filling our calendar with our signature events, the Defcon Days. If you are not familiar with these events, picture free Defcon wings all afternoon, drink specials, and football. It’s a trifecta of gastronomical delight! In addition, we have greatly increased the number of catering events we are doing as well, bringing our twisted happiness to various public and private gatherings, and allowing the populace to become assimilated into The Defcon Collective. We really enjoy this time of year, as we get to meet a bunch of you guys and just hang out. If you are in the NJ area during football season, make sure to check out our schedule and maybe attend one of our gigs, it’s a guaranteed good time. I mean honestly, free award-winning wings, ice-cold beer and football, how can you possibly go wrong?
Sad to say, with myself and The Createss still securing full-time corporate positions, it really cuts down on our availability outside the immediate NJ area. One of these days this will change, but not as of yet.
With the explosive expansion of our products into many new markets, we haven’t had the time to work on many new projects. Believe me, we have plenty of ideas, but ideas need time to grow, and time hasn’t been available in large quantities as of late. As many of you know, we are very slow in the production of new products, preferring to test market the ideas for an extended length of time, so we can keep tweaking it until we feel it’s right. We have a couple brand new things rolling around, which a few people have taste-tested and these prototypes have passed the test, but they are still far from going into production. I’d like to say what these products are, but if I did, I’m afraid my wife would become displeased and angered. The simple idea of that scares the Hell out of me.
Many, yes many of you have inquired about what we are doing with the ZERO lately. Well, to be honest, with the downturn of the economy, we decided to forego a ZERO Batch #6 collector bottle this year, as most people don’t have the extra disposable income at this time. Instead, we are releasing non-collector vials of the evil stuff. We made a good number of these little gems, but I’m pretty sure they will sell out quickly. We will be unveiling them at Zest Fest next week. We won’t be bringing them all, as I don’t want the rest of you who couldn’t make it to the show to miss out.
Please do not email me to secure one before you receive an email from me!
I will send out an email when we get back from Zest Fest, and we will then start taking orders, on a first come first serve basis, and will put a limit per order of around 5. These little beauties were 8 months in the making, and a lot of personal pain and capsaicin-based agony goes into every vial. The ZERO came out a little thicker this time around, due to an extra procedural step, so you’ll have to shake well before using, but I do think you’ll find the stuff a tad hotter than the Batch #5 release.
We have also somewhat revamped the Habby Horse and Habby Pony horseradishes. We think it tastes even better now, due to a change in the way it is bottled. If you haven’t had it in a while, give it a shot, I think you’ll see what I mean. As for the Deathmatch Mark 2 sauce (DM-MKII), many of you know it was a limited release. Well, its limits are becoming quite apparent, and we are down to the last few cases. Once it’s gone, it’s gone, never to resurface, and will be replaced by another product we are currently working on (evil chuckle). The DM-MKII was a very cool success (no pun intended) and when the last bottle is sold, we will move forward, and allow it to Rest In Peace.
As previously mentioned, we expanded quite a bit in the last few months, due to an interesting marketing project I concocted, and are now available in 26 states at retail locations. This could actually save many of you a few bucks, as you might be able to get it locally, and not have to pay the shipping charges. On our website, on the right side of the home page, click on the “Where Else To Buy” button, and the retail locations are listed alphabetically by state. As we say all the time, if there is a location you think would be a good match for our products, have that location contact us. In the past, we have made a lot of people quite happy, knowing they can purchase Defcon Sauces products nearby, whenever they need them.
Well, this email is long enough, thanks for reading it. As always, we here at Defcon HQ want to thank each and every one of you guys. With your constant comments and ideas, which we always listen to, it has allowed us to grow into something very cool. If someone had told me 3-4 years ago where we are today, I would have had them locked up for paranoid delusion. Well, until next time, take care my friends...
