This year marks the first time that I will attend the 2013 Fiery Foods Weekend at the North Market in Columbus, Ohio. This small event has now been well-established as a must-see and must-attend jaunt that presumably has all the first- and second-year creaks all oiled and smoothed out. Very often referred to as "The North Market Show", this two-day spectacle has been reported by both show attendees and chilehead attendees as one of the most fun and most fulfilling spicy food shows of the year. It's because of this that I could not pass it up this year. I'm also bringing my chilehead son Kevin along for the fun (he witnessed his first fiery food event with last year's Weekend of Fire).
CaJohn's Open House
Unofficial to the show, but essential to all hardcore chileheads, is CaJohn's Open House. This little get-together actually takes place on Friday, which is a day before the start of the North Market show on Saturday. The Open House is an open door event where no invite is necessary - CaJohn Hard, his wife Sue, and the entire CaJohn's crew will be there with a hearty welcome and hospitable hearts. Simply show up at the headquarters of CaJohn's Fiery Foods in the Columbus suburb of Westerville, Ohio any time between 12 noon until 9 pm or so at night. All chileheads are welcome, so feel to drop by and chill...you never know who will be there, including me and Kevin, or other Fiery Foods Weekend vendors!
