Blair and Zakk WyldeTeam Up For Berserker Brand Hot Sauces
Hot off the press from Blair Lazar:
“Dear ChiliPal,
So many things have been going on in Death Sauce Land over the last few months. So much in fact that I could not explain everything in just one e-Mail. Over the next couple of weeks I will be sending out several additional messages covering many exciting topics.
Today I want to announce that Blair’s and Zakk Wylde have…

Apollo 11 Moonwalk Area Compared to Soccer Field, Baseball Diamond
The Strangemaps website has posted links to a couple of extremely cool map graphics: the area where the Apollo 11 astronauts (Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin) walked on the moon in July 1969 compared to the sizes of a standard soccer field and a Major League Baseball diamond.

Review: Ott’s Original Wing Sauce
How many hot sauces have you tried that have become an instant staple in your house, where you absolutely had to have a bottle on hand at all times and became as commonplace in your kitchen as ketchup and white bread? My “must-have” in the hot sauce world is Ott’s Wing Sauce.
I first became addicted to Ott’s sometime in the mid-1990s when St. Louis area Denny’s restaurants used Ott’s on their Buffalo Chicken Strips. I tasted them and knew I had to get my grubby little paws on the sauce. After a bit of research my wife and I found the answer, and a bottle of it has been in our kitchen ever since.
Sadly, our local Denny’s ditched Ott’s a few years ago in favor of a runnier, redder, and weaker buffalo sauce on their chicken breast strips. It’s a shame that more scraggly 2:00 am diner-goers who ordered the Buffalo Chicken Strips wouldn’t be able to experience what I consider the best mild-to-medium buffalo sauce in the world…
Pictures of Actual Food Compared With Their Package Photos
German website Pundo3000.com has taken photos of one hundred different, locally store-bought, food products and compared them side-by-side with the doctored pictures that are on their packages.
Here’s a German paraphrased translation of the web page, thanks to http://babelfish.altavista.com/:
Blair’s New Pure Death Sauce
A new sauce has just been made available on the Blair’s Website: Pure Death. No, it’s not one to top the 750,000 SHU threshold of Jersey Death. Blair promises this one to be around the same as level as After Death, which measures just shy of the 50,000 mark (still pretty darned hot). Unlike a lot of liquid super scorchers on the market, Pure Death contains no extract, and gets it’s heat from the pods of bhut jolokia and orange habanero peppers…
Growing Bhut Jolokias – Step Two – Planting the Seeds
In my last article about growing bhut jolokia peppers, I briefly described the seeds and my experience eating a pepper flake. Now we get to the good part – planting the seeds!
Starting Indoors
Like a good bulk of the United States, my home state of Missouri has a climate that won’t allow for the outdoor starting of hot pepper plants. The good news is that with the right indoor conditions it’s easy to have your pepper seeds germinate and sprout up into nice little seedlings. What are those conditions, you might ask?
Keep Your Plants Warm
First, make sure you’re able to keep your peppers in a place that is able to get plenty of heat. It can be…
The Beatles Featuring David Lee Roth
You’ve got to hand it to the guys who think up these things and then construct them. Here’s a nicely edited audio/video mashup featuring The Beatles and David Lee Roth performing “Drive My Car” and “Runnin’ With the Devil”:
In case you were wondering, the Beatles footage was taken from their 1968 “Revolution” video, and Van Halen’s from their “Runnin’ With the Devil” clip produced ten years later. Audio was the naked David Lee Roth studio vocal track of “Runnin'” (that surfaced some time last year) inserted into the Fab Four’s classic hit from Rubber Soul.
RobertsSTL Site
Things are going to slow down a bit on the RobertsSTL.com site, so don’t be expecting a whole lot of updates. Instead, in the coming months I’m going to focus more attention on updating my Scott Roberts web site.

Scotty’s Gut-Pleasing Spicy BBQ Sauce Recipe
Recipe time! If you’re looking for a good, sweet, dark, and rich barbecue sauce to slather on your grilled steaks, chops, ribs, and chicken, give this one a try next weekend:
1 (8 oz.) Can Tomato Sauce
1/2 Cup Chopped Onions
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
1 Serrano Chile Pepper or Jalapeńo Peppers (Take Your Pick), Finely Diced
1 1/4 Cup Ketchup
2 Tbsp Prepared Yellow Mustard
1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Dash Garlic Powder
1 Dash Tabasco Habanero Sauce
1 Cup Water or Beer (Take Your Pick)
Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan, cover and simmer for 45-60 minutes. The sauce will reduce and slightly thicken the longer it cooks. If you like spicy sauces, use a serrano pepper instead of the jalapeńo. If you prefer it milder, substitute regular Tabasco Sauce or Frank’s Hot Sauce for the hotter Tabasco Habanero Sauce. In my opinion, it tastes similar to Bull’s-Eye Original Barbecue Sauce with an extra added “kick” from the peppers and the beer. Apply it to meat and you’ll have BBQ heaven!
Garfield Comic Spoofs
Have you always loved the antics of Garfield, the lasagna-loving cat? Yeah, me neither. Here are a few links that poke fun at the ridiculously unfunny comic:
Remove that wisecracking orange feline from every frame of the comic strip and you get Garfield Minus Garfield. It’s amusing to see Garfield’s owner, Jon Arbuckle, turn into a lonely, depressed, schizophrenic man who has conversations with thin air.
Realfield borrows from that last idea and pushes it further by replacing Garfield with a real, non-talking cat. Jon is even more psychopathically sad in this one.
My favorite is…

Bad Physics Report Card For Sci-Fi Movies
IO9 has posted a report card for bad physics in science fiction movies. Both Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff passed, but technically they’re not science fiction; they’re science fact and history. I’m surprised Armageddon didn’t fail on more topics, as there are more inconsistencies, continuity errors, and plot holes in it than any other sci-fi movie I can think of.
